Never Ask Why – Life With 6 Kids

After getting over the initial shock of Joe’s appearance we hopped in his pickup truck and took off to go out to eat.  We went out to a Texas type steakhouse.  The most unusaual thing started happening over dinner – we had a good conversation.    I’ve always been a bit on the shy side.  Once I heard the term social anxiety disorder I self-diagnosed myself with that.  Small talk has always been a struggle for me.  Now here I was talking to this stranger and I felt very comfortable.  And then one of the waitresses, who was an old friend of his, came over and started talking to him.  She even went so far as to sit down with us.  ( I later learned that we would frequently run in to people that he knew.)  It was a bit awkward.  But as the evening progressed I just felt drawn to this man.  After dinner we went to a movie and then back to my cousin’s to drop me off.  Joe ended the evening with a good night handshake.  I figured at that point it was another guy who I had fallen for but was not interested in me.

I met the man of my dreams when I was 25. I had kissed my share of frogs. I was due for my prince. But the man I met was in no way what I had ever expected. It all started at my cousin’s Susie’s wedding. It wasn’t fair. Susie was my age and she was getting married. I had never dated anyone for more than three months. I was going through a bit of a dating dry spell. That is when my other cousin, Richard, got the bright idea to set me up with a buddy of his. With little hesitation I accepted.

My name is Samantha and I live in one of the 2009 Top 100 Cities in the US.   I am married to a wonderful man and I have 6 kids, a dog, and a cat.  Fascinating, huh?  Well, not really.  How I came about having 6 kids and how I handle them might be a bit more interesting though.
